My exciting trip to Hong Kong: Workshop on "Year of the Snake"

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Hong Kong to participate in a unique workshop centered around a Chinese drum piece called Year of the Snake - "YOTS". This experience was not only enriching but also a lot of fun.

The workshop brought together 13 enthusiastic young people, all eager to learn the art of Chinese drumming. The energy in the room was palpable as we gathered around, each of us ready to dive into the rhythms and beats that define this traditional art form.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the incorporation of body percussion. This added a whole new dimension to the learning experience. We used our hands, feet, and even our voices to create sounds that complemented the drum beats. It was fascinating to see how our bodies could become instruments, adding layers of texture and rhythm to the piece.

Throughout the workshop, there was a strong sense of camaraderie among the participants. Overall, my trip to Hong Kong, which included the YOTS workshop was an unforgettable experience. It was a perfect blend of cultural immersion, musical education, and personal growth. I’m grateful for the opportunity and look forward to more such enriching experiences in the future.
